What is Invisalign?
A smile can change everything
Your confidence. Your outlook. Your life. And with Invisalign, achieving the smile you always dreamed of doesn’t have to be a big deal. In fact, it barely has to impact your day-to-day life at all.
Invisalign
Straightens teeth using a series of nearly invisible, removable aligners that are custom-made specifically for your teeth. As you replace each aligner every two weeks, your teeth will move – little by little, week by week, gradually moving towards the projected final position.
Comfortable, clear and removable
Invisalign transforms your smile without disrupting your life. Something that over 2.5 million people worldwide have already discovered.
Invisalign removable clear aligners have changed the face of orthodontics, giving you the option of a flexible brace that keeps your smile looking great the whole time.
What is Invisalign?
The Invisalign system was invented in 2002 and has treated millions of patients worldwide. Invisalign uses a series of transparent plastic aligners which are changed by you the patient at home. They’re almost invisible to others, making them a more discreet choice.
How does it work?
Using the latest advances in 3-D computer technology, Invisalign uses your dentist’s instructions to create a series of custom made removable mouth trays (aligners). These aligners apply a controlled amount of force to your teeth, causing them to move. Each aligner is slightly different, moving your teeth gradually into the desired position. Eventually, the incremental progress will slowly accumulate, and you’ll discover that your smile is better than ever.
Invisalign: The Benefits:
• Thanks to Invisalign’s ClinCheck software, you can now see the end result of treatment before you even begin.
• A flexible treatment option that gives patients a 2-hour window each day, during which they can remove the aligners to brush, floss and eat as normal.
• The removable nature of the aligners makes Invisalign a great choice of brace for anyone following specific diets such as keto, vegetarian or vegan, for example.
• Invisalign has a global reputation and has been credited with offering adult’s a less invasive means of undergoing orthodontic treatment.
• Mild treatment with Invisalign can take as little as 3-4 months, whilst the average time for most cases is around 6 – 12 months.
What to expect from treatment?
The brace-wearing period will depend on the kind of issue you are having treated, which could be misalignment, spacing, crowding or bite issues.
1. Your first visit is to really understand what you want to achieve through treatment. We then
take photos and impressions of your teeth which are sent to the Invisalign laboratory.
2. The Invisalign laboratory create a 3D video simulation (ClinCheck) of how your teeth will look
at each stage along with your custom invisible aligners.
3. This 3D video provides the Invisalign lab with the information they need to create the aligners,
which you will wear for 22 hours each day and change every 1-2 weeks removing only for meals
and brushing.
4. Invisalign then sends us your brand-new aligners and you can begin treatment straight away.
We will ask you to come in for follow-up appointments to keep an eye on your progress.
